Two of us on a Wednesday, no booking, seated straight away. The Kibbeh arrived and the conversation stopped for a minute. Already booked again for next month.

I do not usually eat this sort of food and came along under mild protest. Take the Falafel, even if you are fairly sure you do not want it. Worth the trip across Beirut Hillside Restaurant, and I do not say that lightly.

My husband picked it off a list of places with no photographs on the wall. The Shish Taouk was the first thing gone and the first thing we ordered again. The staff knew the menu properly, which is rarer than it ought to be.
