The kind of place you assume is a tourist trap until you look at who is eating there. The Shish Taouk had none of the heaviness this kind of cooking usually carries. Card only, which caught me out - worth knowing before you go.

Arrived early and watched the room fill up with people who clearly knew the staff. They talked me out of what I was going to order and into the Lamb Meshwi. Good call. Everything arrived at the right temperature, which should not be remarkable.

My sister chose it and I was sceptical, having been dragged to worse. Came for the Hummus and would come back for it alone. It has quietly become the reason I suggest meeting in Riyadh.
